Monocle Shop opens in Beijing

Very exciting news out of Beijing, we have a Monocle Shop! Monocle is the lifestyle magazine brainchild of Tyler Brûlé and is one of the best looking magazines on the market. Plus its not just flim flam, the articles are interesting and in depth. I had a look yesterday, it was small, but lovely. Fingers crossed this will be a successful venture (everything else which has rented that building has never survived for more than a year!)
Designed by the Monocle creative team in London, the shop measures 15 sq m with a warm interior reflecting the black and white colour palette of the magazine.The full range of Monocle’s exclusive design collaborations across
fashion, home, travel, stationery, music and accessories will be available for Beijing shoppers. Tyler Brûlé, Monocle editor in chief, is looking forward to opening the first Monocle Shop on the Chinese mainland and building a relationship with the local community. “Each of the six Monocle shops around the globe has their own distinct personality,” he says. “We are excited to learn more about the Beijing shopper and see what that personality
will grow into.”

The Monocle Shop Beijing will launch several new products, includingThe Hill-Side x Monocle ties and pocket squares, theTembea BookTote, the BarenaTravel Jacket, the Hackett Polo Shirt, the Brooklyn leather wristband and
the Monocle PerfectTrain Station poster. The Monocle Shop Beijing will also carry Monocle’s ongoing selection of collaborations including the bestselling Porter Bag range and Orlebar Brown swim trunks, plus Monocle’s own products including the Monocle LiveVolume B CD and stationery collection.

The Monocle Shop Beijing is the sixth Monocle Shop, joining NewYork, London, Hong Kong,Tokyo and Osaka.
