The Twin Trees Pavilion as designed by Shanghai based Atelier Archmixing was a project aimed at turning a former pig enclosure into a pavilion for informal meetings and rest. Based around two relatively old trees, this is a very raw building using basic materials available in the local area. This project is interesting in that it is low key and not over the top, and from the outside looks like any other dilapidated building. It is only when you step inside that the space begins to make sense. A wonderful project, contextually appropriate and without ego.

Atelier Archmixing is run by Shen Zhuang and Hao Ren.
